Know a local school sports team that needs funds for a gear refresh?

The El Pollo Loco Foundation and WNBA player Arike Ogunbowale are bringing the fire and looking for teams that could use an assist.

Five school sports teams could win $2k worth of new equipment - learn how you can nominate a team below: 

How to Enter


  1. Record a video about what school sports team you’re nominating, why you think the team deserves to win, and what they would spend the prize money on.
  2. Post that video on Instagram and be sure to tag #EPLfire and #contest in the caption.
  3. Follow both @elpolloloco and @arike_ogunbowale for updates about the contest.

KEY DATES

  • The contest runs January 19, 2026 and ends February 19, 2026.
  • The 5 school team winners will be announced around March 19, 2026 on El Pollo Loco’s Instagram.

Giving Back at Lancaster High School


H-O-R-S-E? Arike 
Ogunbowale and the Lancaster High School girls' basketball team played P-O-L-L-O with $10k on the line – and the students were fired up and walked away with $10k toward their basketball program.
 

Get to Know Arike Ogunbowale

A 4x WNBA All Star (MVP 2021 and 2024), Arike Ogunbowale is a guard for the Dallas Wings. She was drafted by Notre Dame, where she won the 2018 NCAA title.

During her off seasons, Ogunbowale organizes her own camp in Milwaukee and actively engages with NBA Africa, which helped earn her the WNBA Community Assist Award in 2021 and 2023.
