Beginning Monday, November 3, 2008 and continuing through the New Year, El Pollo Loco will feature two new tamale sensations-- the Tamale Plate and the Tamale Bowl. El Pollo Loco’s new Tamale Plate features two delicious chicken tamales, topped with Colorado chili sauce and Jack and Cheddar cheeses, served with rice and pinto beans. A twist on the original Pollo Bowl®, El Pollo Loco’s new Tamale Bowl features a delicious chicken tamale covered in flavorful Colorado chili sauce atop Spanish rice and pinto beans. It is topped with shredded Jack and Cheddar cheeses and cool, creamy sour cream.
Inspired by the time-honored kitchens of Mexico, El Pollo Loco’s Chicken Tamales are filled with delicately spiced chicken simmered in a rich Colorado chili sauce infused with Mexican herbs and spices. The tamales are formed by hand with cooked corn masa prepared with real Meseca, wrapped in cornhusks, and served with a choice of fresh salsas. The tamales are sold individually, in quantities of four, and are featured as a three-pack for just $5.00 with the purchase of any family meal.
